The Jonesville Tennis Center is a public facility located on 30 acres of land in the heart of Gainesville. It has 14 clay courts, which are available for public use. The center offers private and group lessons for players of all skill levels. In addition, it hosts several tournaments throughout the year, including the USTA-sanctioned 2019 Spring Clay Court Championships.

 

UF Tennis Complex

The University of Florida Tennis Complex is home to the Gators' tennis teams and is open to the public when not in use. It has 12 courts, six of which are indoor, and six outdoor. The complex also has a clubhouse with restrooms, showers, and a pro shop. The facility hosts several college matches throughout the year, as well as the ITF Women's Circuit Wild Card Challenge.

 

Haile Plantation Golf and Country Club

The Haile Plantation Golf and Country Club is a private club that offers tennis memberships to non-residents. The club has eight clay courts, four of which are lighted for night play. USTA Florida manages four tennis facilities in Gainesville; Albert Ray Massey (Westside) Park, Northside Park, Tom Petty Park, Northside Park, and T.B. McPherson Park. The Albert Ray Massey (Westside) Park is a public park that is home to The Joyce Oransky Tennis Center which features 8 hard courts with added 60′ blended lines, a hitting wall with three pickleball courts, and tennis shop. It is free to use, and there is no reservation required. The park also has several other amenities, including a playground, picnic areas, and a dog park. Westside Park hosts several local tournaments throughout the year. Tom Petty Park is just two miles from the University of Florida campus. The 47-acre Northside Park was renovated in 2020 and now offers more outdoor games such as bocce ball, pickleball and tennis courts, pétanque, table tennis, checkers and chess. The T.B. McPherson Park offers four hard courts with added 60′ blended lines.

 

Special Events and Matches

Gainesville is home to several tennis-related events throughout the year. The most significant event is the Gator Classic, which takes place every February at the UF Tennis Complex and again in the Fall. This tournament attracts some of the top college tennis players from around the country.
